Employability Charter certificate presented to Arlington Automotive.
Arlington Automotive, part of Arlington Industries Group Ltd, has received the Employability Charter award from Warwickshire County Council.
The certificate was presented to Arlington on Tuesday 13th June by Councillor Izzy Seccombe, Leader of Warwickshire County Council in recognition of the work they do with providing work experience opportunities to help improve the employment skills of young people.
Arlington has started a program with Herewood College, a further education facility for young people with disabilities and additional needs, where several of their students have been coming into the automotive company and working within their aftermarket packing section.
The car part assemblers will also be starting a supported internship from September 2017. Here, four students will stay with Arlington over a period of nine months to get a more in depth understanding of the work they do and to give them the best possible opportunity to be able to move into the world of work after completing the programme.
Mark Franckel, Arlington Industries Group CEO, said: "Weve loved having the Herewood students with us at Arlington. Not only have they learned something about what we do here, and about working in general, but theyve also helped contribute to our ongoing success. Were looking forward to helping our interns go even further later this year.
